That is the most important thing to realize about this game. It is NOT an MGS game. It is an MG game. Once you've realized that, you're ready to move on to one of the most unique experiences ever.
I, like most of you, was skeptical when I heard that they were making a card-based Metal Gear game. I didn't know how the action or suspense would turn out, but I had faith that the story would keep me interested. Having said that, it's the gameplay that's keeping me interested now. In the MGS games, if you messed up and got spotted by a guard, you could usually run away and hide for a while and that would be it. With MGA, if you get spotted by a guard, you have to check on the enemies around you (since the radar isn't really there, but you can go to an overhead look of the map to see everyone's vision), check on how many cards you have, how much Cost it will take, and other things that you'd never have to think about in the MGS games. It's truly a different and unique experience in itself.
But I do agree with the reviewers that have said that if this game didn't have Solid Snake in it, it wouldn't be as good. It's true. This game would be very boring and stupid. BUT... it does have Snake in it, it has many of the great touches that make a Metal Gear a Metal Gear game, and it IS very fun once you get into the core of it. This game won't convert non-MG fans, but if you've loved the MGS series on the PS1/PS2 and you wanna try something new, definitely give this a try.
