Summary: Fortesque is back!

This was a great and inovative game for the original Playstation. The game is filled with vibrant levels, tons of humor and lots of fun.

Storyline
Sir Dan Fortesque was Gallowmeres' once favored hero. He was the first to fall in the battle against the evil sorcerer Zarok. Now Zarok is back and has risen an army of the dead, and bring Sir Dan back as well. Sir Dan being a coward in his past life seeks to redeem himself, earn a place in the Hall of Heroes, and once again defeat Zarok.

Gameplay
The gameplay is really simple but has a combo system. Nothing really different than much else, there is a fast attack and a slower but more powerful one, you can string these two together for a combo.

Graphics
The game looks great, the in game quality is amazing as well as the cutscenes. They "brightened" the look of the game from the original on the Playstation and gives it a less "dark" feeling. The voice overs in the game are great, some serious while others are just humourous.

Load Times
Boy was I suprised, tons of the other PSP games have suffered from bad load times, that problem isn't here. It takes a matter of seconds to load from one level to another.

Sound
Well I kinda covered it earlier but the sound is great, the voice overs are wonderful and the music goes well with the level or situation.

Problems
Sad to say it but yes, there are a few issues within the game, very minor but a couple. The camera is fixed in a certain locations which can be a hassle but is far from unplayable. Many complain about the camera angles, to get the camera back behind you all you do is tap R, simple as that. Also there are a couple problems with hit detection, I only experienced this once so isn't a big deal. Hope none of this hinders you from enjoying a great experience.

Overall
This was probably and by far my favorite time spent playing a PSP game so far. The games story is great and is the dialogue. I really enjoyed playing this game. To anyone looking for a great platformer then this is your best bet. Check it, MediEvil Resurrection.

I don't see why this game got such high scores. It felt more like a chore to play than actual fun. The camera constantly had to be fixed, the puzzles were just nonsensical, the combat is inaccurate and clumsy, and the story was stupid and corny.
AT BEST I WOULD GIVE THIS GAME A 70. It's nice looking. Very Tim Burtonish. But in my opinion that is all it has going for it. I developed a headache just playing the first few levels. I am very glad I rented it first in my desperate scramble to find a decent game for my PSP. Of course everyone is entitled to their opinion and I am glad some enjoyed it (I honestly feel like it is more like a dying person in the desert that has not had water for days and days and finally gets offered a glass of luke warm murky water - Not good, but at least it's water. *LOL*) Try again Sony! If you must to ports and remakes there are so many other much better choices available!!

this game is pretty bad. Its just another basic hack-slash rpg in my opinion. the puzzles where stupid and the story was like a friggen fairy tale

LMAO @ 95%.......

Some of you really just can't accept when you have purchased a bad game. You are so in denial and I think it's hilarious. Same thing happened with Coded Arms review, same thing happened with Death Jr review.

Thalium, is this game better or worse than Death JR (or similiar)? I really really really want to buy this game but I have my reservations. While Death Jr was a ton of fun, it ran it's course...I'd hate for this to do the same.

Thank you for letting me know

well, hes right. it was his score and his opinion and if you feel differently then you should write one yourself instead of trashing other peoples reviews. everyone loved burnout legends while i didnt. difference of opinion is all it is; i simply ask people why they liked it so much instead of trashing them. and please dont tease him based on where hes from, its just ignorant.

I thought this was A LOT better than Death Jr., and they are have very similar gameplay, but Medievil is less platformy. Better macabre humor, better combat mechanics, better story, better aiming and controls, even slightly better graphics, and on the whole far less frustrating. It's no killer ap, but so much more enjoyable. Mini games are very fun, my favorites are the target shooting crossbow game and trebuchet.

No Need to insult him, if you disagree state why so the rest of us can make an informed decision. I tend to ignore over-the-top remarks when looking for info to buy a game. Both "too good" and "too horrible".

well, seeing as most games are puzzles or driving, this is a welcome title
