I really enjoyed this game, why? TWISTER IS BACK. Man I loved that car. *Tear drops from eyes*
There are a number of starter characters and unlockables. Please keep in mind that Incog stole the game back from those dirty people at 989 that buchered her. Anyways, it's back at Incog now, and thats a good thing.
Like always, I beleive the story in the game revolves around Needles Kane aka Sweet Tooth. What I missed from Twisted Metal: Black was interlinking of stories, but sadly they didn't have it here. What did come back was the comic-book style endings. These made the endings even more eerie, but not as eerie as 'Black.'
Gameplay
Great as always, although because of the lack of Dual-nubs, I can't do the tight turns that I used to. I also always found it cheap when there were health power-ups all around the stage. Anyways, there are destructable environments, like the ability to destroy the Eiffel Tower. Now that is some great fun, especially online. It gets annoying later on when the computer just keeps freezing you, that's when you wanna do some smashey smashey to the PSP.
Controls
The controls are fine, instead of using R1 and L1 to switch weapons, it's only one button now. Although you can use this button scheme, you can choose others in the options. The joy-nub is too sensitive and too hard for me to use, so now I resort to just using the D-Pad. Also it means easier input for the special attacks like the ice blast.
Replay Value
Tons, it's online. Always a new experience when playing online. If only offline, then I beleive you may only survive 3 characters in story mode before you die of boredom.
The online experience is great, too bad no VoIP yet. My only gripe is most of the people that host games set weapons to unlimited. So you die in 10 seconds as everyone keeps using fire missles. I wish Sony would release a keyboard also so I can actually speak with the players.
