Having heard that the PSP immediately becomes scratched and dusty, the first thing I did before even turning it on (ok, that's a lie, I snuck in one Lumines session) was to put on this Screen Protector.

I don't have any experience with any others, but users on this site claim that not only is this the best protector for the PSP, but they also make the best PDA screen protectors. That kind of experience speaks volumes to me and it's with this in mind that I set out to use this protector and not the Hori or others.

Installation

Packaging for the protector is very simple and the instructions are very clear.

* Take out the protector from it's protecting sheath
* Get out your best fingernail to try and peel off the backing in one corner
* Pray that no dust get's on the protector while you attempt to fit it onto your PSP
* Peel off the rest of the backing as you put the protector onto your PSP
* Smooth out any bubbles with a credit card

It's easy enough to install. Once done, it's great to see that the quality and clarity don't change. The screen is just as vivid as before, and if anything is more beautiful on account of no scratches / dust.

Issues

This isn't really related to the Martin Fields Protector so much as trying to install it. I found it really difficult to apply the protector without getting any fibers onto it. It took numerous attempts, with a wash in between each attempt. The ability to wash / blowdry it is a great thing, but hopefully you're more skilled than I and won't need to go through the hassle. I'm not certain whether you can wash / blowdry all protectors, but the instructions with this unit clearly instruct you to do so when you need to clean it off.

Overall

All in all the Martin Fields PSP Screen Protector is an essential buy. You'll have a perfectly clean, unscratched screen and peace of mind.
