Capdase's Luxury Hard Case is a simple, black or silver, anondized aluminum case with two memory stick slots and stand that also comes with a nice leather hand strap.
The case has a nice rubber-like bottom and feels incredibly sturdy all around. On the inside, the top of the case has a thin, padded material to help protect your screen and buttons when closed. There are also two Memory Stick slots, which are literally nothing more than slots. Sticks fit in well, and should be secure when the case is closed, but there is no lock mechanism of any kind for them.
When you put the PSP in, there are two dimples that fit into the top of the PSP, securing it very tightly, and ensuring that it doesn't fall outwhile in cradle mode. The back of the case where the UMD door rests, folds out to make the bottom of the cradle, providing a decent viewing angle.
All ports are uncovered, even the bottom speaker ports, so gaming with the case on is not an issue. It isn't at all heavy unlike the PGP or other cases. Finally, the locking mechanism for the case is a traditional slide-over nub. Many report that the nub wears down after time, but we haven't seen this happen ourselves. Our only complaint is that the case is a little hard to open, requiring you to dig your fingernail in to pry it open.
Overall, the Capdase Luxury Hard Case is great. Very simple, yet very effective. It bears a striking resemblance in terms of form and function to the Madcatz Stealth Case, but without the interior screen protector and pointless outset logo. The Capdase's PSP-holding dimples are a great addition, ensuring that your PSP doesn't fall out, and the two Memory Stick holders will be useful to some. The lock could've been better, but it does the trick.
Yo cappy, since you are the only person with this case, how slim is it. Make a comparison to the pgp, since you know about that one too. Way slimmer, lighter, what.
yeah, if this was a good deal slimmer then the PGP, i would consider retiring my PGP for this. it definately sounds like the best thing out since the PGP and it looks pretty nice while being very functionable.
yeah, i would really love to see a side by side comparison with the playgear pocket. i am considering purchasing this case but i wanna know if its good enough to replace my pgp which is too bulky IMO. btw is there any other place to buy this other than the yesasia site?
I just bought it through the American yesasia.com site, only $3.99 shipping to Ohio. I will post a side by side comparison to the PGP that I will be giving my son for his PSP after getting this one. I ordered silver and it should be here around Oct. 5th....stay tuned for the review.
I just got it. It practically has no bulk whatsoever. In fact I could fit my PSP, with it in the case, in my pocket. This is quite possibly the best case. I also dropped it from 3 feet onto a hardwood floor and my PSP is still working. This is the best case period.
hey aaronaja, can you post a few more picutures of it as i really wanna see a picture of it on a psp, beside one without any case at all to see just how much bulk it adds on. a picture of it beside a pgp would be good too, but if you dont have that can you please post more pictures of the actual thing?
good pics, still want to see a PGP comparison although those pics gave me a better idea of its size. i think i might get this, looks like what i've been waiting for
