I know there are programs available for converting DVDs' to play on PSP, but I'm a busy guy and spend a fair bit of time travelling. So, I don't have time to convert a DVD into one big VOB file, then convert it into an MP4.
Thankfully this app does it all in one go. And, it's very easy to use. Just pop the DVD of your choice into your PC, choose the video and sound setting to suit your memory card, press play, then record. It even creates a thumbnail for your PSP, and transfers it over in a PSP friendly file name.
So far I've converted the first Star Wars trilogy, and I'm very happy with the results.
My only complaint would be the price. Given the free alternatives, £30 (GBP) is quite alot of money. But, there is the convienience of an all in one prgram.
I have this program too! Bought it shortly after it got introduced. I've used the other PQDVD software (DVD Studo for Pocket PC) for the past year and was so glad that they've come out w/ one for the PSP. Both these programs (Pocket PC and PSP) are so convenient and yet gives you sufficient options to customize your movie file according to your needs. The interface to transfer converted files couldn't be any easier as you can also customize the titles- not just the generic MV0000 titles. And the conversion time of 3x the speed is just plain awesome. Highly recommended!!
Ok I have this Rapiz PSP Video Converter and I have the same problems with this error after I`m done. I have my settings set to Englsih that`s not the problem. Does this come with a manual or instructions can anyone tell me what the problem is? I also have PSP 9 that works up until the point I`m trying to move to PSP then nothing. Could it be that my computer is to old Windows 98?

I'm getting this.
Can you share your recommended settings for coverting DVD movies?"
Really depends on your memory stick. I have the video set at 264kbps, and 30 fps, and the sound at 96 kbps, which on Fellowship of the Ring cam in at about 524 MB, but that's a lenghy film. Sin City was 419 MB.
"sil8126"... Thanks for the information.
Yea... I know it depends on the size of the MS stick, but I just wanted an idea of where to start with the settings.
I use 512kbs video and 112kbs for audio, at 30fps if converting full length hi-action movie features. 296kbs video and 112kbs audio if converting TV episodes and perhaps "drama" type movies. I have a 1GB MS duo and an APACER CD211 (60b) to store all these files and be able to bring it with me on -the- go.
I had to figure out to which is the best video/audio codec combination to use (i was having problems w/ audio syncing w/ the other codecs for example). You can get this settings in "DVD Settings". I did finally figured out as to which combination is best- so its all good!
I'm using a Sony VAIO 2.4ghz P4 Windows XP Home.
I don't think the price is too bad. I mean if you went for the $250 PSP, not the $150 DS, then you're either not poor or overindulgent, both of which would allow you to purchase this product.
The trial version worked great for me, but you only get 5 - 10 mins of a rip.
I haven't bought it, the video cropping options and output options do not give you the same flexibility that you get on PSP video 9. In a 2.35:1 aspect movie you will still get the letterbox top and bottom.
From my tests, I wouldn't go under 768kbps, I can see the difference.
The software is really slick, if they could add more aspect ratios to the selections I'd buy it in notime.

EDIT: After some extensive testing I've decided to buy this. You can't cue jobs up like you can in PSP video 9, but it is faster and much easier to use than the many steps involved with the PSP9's workflow. The software does however, preview the video while recording (good/bad).
The aspect ratio I mentioned above turns out to be a non-issue, as it works perfectly. I've tested it on aspect ratios for TV episodes, Widescreen, Letterbox.
It looks as good as it works. Great job to the developers.
