| Summary: Burnout 3 Lite, but still excelent

Since much of other reviews already run the gambit of awesome to spectacular, I will look at it from a different angle. My review title says it all -- Burnout Legends is really Burnout 3 with some solid changes. But if you have played Burnout 3 you will easily see what I am saying once you play Legends.
Legends has a majority of the same levels that BO3 has. But the exception is that Legends brings back some levels from Burnout 2. Some notable ones being "Terminal 1 & 2" and "Terminal 3". These classic levels have been redone slightly for the PSP. Other levels have also been redone to address some subtle flaws or to just address the PSP. One such notable change would be in the Lakeside coarse. Just ass you come off the dirt portion of the coarse in the FWD game mode you may notice that the car park is now missing and a green hill is there.
Many of the levels have been reworked in this simple way. But these changes do not deter from the overall gameplay. Also gone are the Crash Multiplayers. No longer will you maneuver vainly to hit that 4x and to avoid the heart breaker from BO3. This has facilitated the reworking of the cash amounts, but so far I have not found any of these changes as detrimental.
The final change that I would like to note is that of the cars. The cars have been turned and each type has different abilities. I did not notice this too heavily in Burnout 3. But gone is a listing of the cars stats and so you will need to drive each one to know just what they will do. Also looking towards what I have heard of Revenge, Legends keeps in line by having cars you can only unlock through multiplayer competition. These challenge cars are given one at a time. To start you get one in each class when you win a specific race. But there are 4 more to get in each class. This means having a friend with a PSP, and $50 for BOL. Something that may annoy the more obsessive players out there.
All in all the game is quite good for a portable title. And short of it being what could be considered a revision to BO3, it can hold it's own when you're on a plane or the road. So it is a good buy if you're a fan of the series and have the $50 to spend. I would suggest this as a good one for your starving collection.
