I'm having a freaking blast with this one. Go get it now.
Gameplay - 90
Although it took me a cool hour to really get into it, this game rocks. I had never played any Burnout games before and had kinda dismissed them as silly. I was way wrong. As soon as I got over thinking of it as a racer so much and settled on it being a little more like Mario Kart (or the immortal Snowboard Kids), I ended up falling in love.
You basically pick a car and do one of three things:
• You race against others to the finish.
• You (as a cop) pursue a fugitive and stop him (by smashing into him).
• You smash into as many things as possible to create glorious slo-mo pile-ups.
No matter what you're doing, however, you need to drive fast, disobey all traffic laws and wreck things. YAY!!!
Technology - 90
Graphically, this game is a beauty. The music and Sound FX are great and its a blast. It would be nice to be able to supply my own tunes, but soon enough I imagine.
My only complaint is that there are moments when the game seems like it pauses for the system to "catch up" with what's going on. It won't cause any unwanted crashes (not that there would be any in this game) or anything, but it does kinda stick out like a sore thumb.
Value - 85
$50 is a lot of cash for a portable game. EA needs to quit being so damn greedy and just charge the same as the rest (which is still too damn high!). I don't feel cheated, however, with this one. I see lots and lots of time spent on it in the future.

I disagree with the graphics, quite crap compared to ridge racer, alot of glitches here and there. Even though I am a fan, I'm not going to say its the best for every aspect. Generally, the graphics do cause this game to stumble if anything.

a few jaggies and torn textures, but the gameplay is solid and that's where most of the other's lack.

you know this is not a racing game, so it would be wrong to compare it with ridge racer. i mean you do totally different things. and i like those things.

how the hell is this not a racing game???
you race against other cars and crash into them, etc. its just in burnout, the crashing is much more ... glorified
