Summary: MGA: an solid RPG in disguise

I bought this game despite the mixed reviews. I heard a lot of complaints about a "card based" Metal Gear. But when I think about it, Metal Gear Solid also had "cards" in terms of the items that you can have at any given moment. What really seperates this version from other MGs is the fact that MGA is a turn-based strategy game. Add in a great Snake tale and I will go further and say that MGA is the PSP "other" launch RPG.

The graphics are excellent, on par with MGS2 on the PS2. The story is very good. I found very compelling and deep. I like the fact that the gameplay is turn based. I like having time to set up my strategy before ending a turn. I also love that fact that you can save at any point in the game.

The further you get into the game the more the story evolves. With all the plot twists and betrayals of an episode of 24.

I do think that Konami could have done a lot better job of how to use the 'equip' type weapons. I have friends that went halfway through the game only using the 'use' type weapons. Weapon/Inventory mangement is a crucial part of winning the game.
