I wanted to like it. It was one of 2 games that I bought when I got my PSP. Maybe I'm jaded, but this game seems like it's designed for children, or first time RPG people. Everything and I mean EVERYTHING that makes me *want* to play an RPG has been watered down, taking the value out. From the fact that there are TOO MANY types of weapons/armor <making NOTHING special>, to the 400 mini-quests that are all fairly identical, the entire game feels like an IMITATION of a good RPG.

I know it's convenient, but it takes the challenge, and therefore the FUN out of the game to be able to teleport home any time you feel like. You don't lose anything when you die! Where is the STORY? Where is the challenge? What keeps you from taking chances? The quests should all tie together into the main story line, but most of them don't even seem to have a point of thier OWN let alone one tied to the main quest. You have no fear of LOSING anything and without that you can't value anything.

The graphics are good. They really remind me of the original Diablo game. Good, but not great. To be fair, I'm quite impressed that this can be done as well as it is on a handheld, but I'm jaded by games like Halo and so I expect alot from graphics nowdays.

I think Sony's really really dropping the ball here by not porting 'Everquest'. It seems like a no brainer and the 'portable' aspect would make it a best seller amongst Everquest fans. Heck, they'd sell a ton of PSP's just to them!

Lastly, they dropped the ball by not allowing for online multiplayer. The ability to trade items and play with your friends would make this a game many might even pay a subscription fee to play! ESPECIALLY if they continued to update the content!

To sum up. Good but not great graphics. Ok gameplay. Poor implementation and almost 0 replay value for a mature RPG fan makes this one of my least favorite games I own for the PSP. I hope I'm wrong and you find this game rewarding, but don't be suprised to find yourself wanting more.
