I recently purchased the MDR-EX51 from Sony because the stock headphones supplied in the PSP Value Pack hurt my right ear after 15-20 minutes of wear.

First of all, these headphones are worth every penny from your wallet. Plus, its a Sony (I just had to say that). It sounds great and it also does a good job of isolating outside noise, so you can enjoy the great tunes in your music list or games. It comes with 3 silicon earbuds in different sizes (small, medium and large). Unless you use the right size that fits your ears, you will either get a muffled sound or high-bass sound. And if the earbuds are smaller than your ears, they might fall out. So just find your correct size (or closest to your size) and you should have no trouble with these.

The length of the headphone cord is stated by Sony as 1.2m, which means it's 1 foot longer than the PSP's supplied headphones (Left earphone to the plug ). It also uses a gold-plated L-shaped mini stereo plug so it's easier to use when the PSP is in your pocket. It uses a neck chain design where the earphones can easily lay across your shoulder when not in use. The length of the cord means the EX51 is not very remote friendly but the EX71(0.5m) is more remote friendly. Overall, the EX51's are great headphones at $39 but I think the Logitech Playgear Stealth may be a better deal at $20 and it basically has the same setup as the EX51s.

neat, but i prefer my philips brand HE592. in ear buds and has a virtual surround sound design...really nice and they don't distort at high volumes like sony buds tend to do.

I bought a pair of these off amazon for 25 dollars and free shipping. I use these with my iriver mp3 player and the sound of these are great. I love the sound-reducing feature and it has great sound. It doesn't even feel like anything in your ears.

They are great and reasonable price.

Oh and BTW:
These tend to ware out quickly if you don't take care of it.
