When walking around the modern realms of society, you may or may not notice someone walking around beraing a white T-shirt with the big letters saying "Vote for Pedro."
"Who's Pedro?" you might ask. He's one of the stars of 2004's hit Indie's film, Napoleon Dynamite, the story of a high school guy who, well, does an interesting thing to help Pedro win the rank of Class President.
This film is a picture perfect time-passer, and is perfect for a plane ride, or general viewing. The only bad thing is the high price, and the fact that you'll look like a mental case as you laugh to yourself.
This UMD is for those who really enjoyed the movie and don't mind shelling out a big $25 for it. The price is likely to go down soon. However, if you, like me, are a huge fan of the film, this UMD movie is a MUST have.

Ikaickkaids,
Exactly, then what gives you authority to slam Napoleon Dynamite so bad? Don't get me wrong, I didn't think it was an award winning movie either but I don't make people feel bad for liking it.

It's his opionion. So therefore it's his right if he chooses to "slam" this crappy movie.

Mellon,
I'm sure you and Ikaick are hardcore and all, and don't have any form of emotion and/or feeling but just for a second think about this:
What if you put up a review of something you were rather happy/proud of and people just slammed the living hell out of it mocking the thing that you liked as well as you for liking it?
Now as I said, I'm assuming that your tiny little heart can't squirt much compassion out of it and this maybe very, very hard for you...but for just for a moment, just a small moment...wouldn't it remotely make you feel just a little bad that people were taking unwarranted shots at you? Wouldn't it be nicer if someone said "hey I didn't find this movie that good" instead of "wut a waist of $ i cant beelive you bot this. har har har! wtf!? ur uh looser."
To sum up, how about just being a bit nicer and respecting people's opinions instead of just ripping people up.

Um... Yeah... But I always am. So you cant attribute that to anything. Personally I thought the movie was great. Unique style of direction. Someone else mentioned the life aquatic. I loved that too. In my mind the presentation is similar... That weird dry non-humor that cracks me up. Each to thier own though.
I think what the people above me are trying to say is... If you dont like the movie, that's fine. Feel free to post your comments about how much you thought it sucked under this link as it is the official movie thread. This was someones review and it's not really nice to say "what? that movie sucked". You should simply say "nice review" and go post your opinion in the real movie thread.
Also, I made a poll about it... I want to take a survey on it. I'll post a link to it once it's approved.edited: Sep 09 2005

First, I do not speak in such a horrendous manner. Second, I never personally attacked the reviewer, I only attacked this "movie"; The attacks were not unwarranted. I'm not "hardcore" as you say, but if I reviewed something that I liked and someone did the same as I, then I would not care. It's their opinion about the said item not my own. Of course I respect others opinions, but only the opinions that have a basis and not just "Heh, I liked this movie because I thought it was stupid funny". I need facts to respect others opinions. You see I respect yoyo_petes opinion because it was strong and not without merit but most of the others give nothing more than "Gosh, you're a frickin' idiot", which quite frankly is not a good supporting opinion.

I'll field this one bit by bit. First of all...what compassion should I feel for an undeservingly successful movie? Would you feel sorry for a mass murderer who wins the lottery? No. Good Things sometimes come to those who don't deserve it.
Secondly, my review of Coded Arms, which I loved, is on its way.
Third. You're puting words in our mouths. I never once personally attacked anyone or insulted anyone for their opinion. I simply stated my own opinion and restated it occasionally. Personally, I believe that though liking ND DOES warrant shots at people, I am above insulting others and making direct attacks on their opinion or intelligence. I have nothing but respect for others' opinions. People are free to think what they want. If I persuade some, good. If I don't...nothing lost. And though I appear incapable of squeezing a drop of compassion from my tiny heart, you appear incapable of wringing a drop of intelligence from your tiny mind. I'd rather be intelligent and icy towards poor movies than love every movie I see and have an IQ of 4.

My response there had little to do with the movie and everything to do with sthig being an imbecile.edited: Sep 10 2005

I think that the reason some people liked ND so much (no saying that is was "MY" favorite movie) was because it was somthing that hasn't been seen in awhile. Most of the actors were people that no one has ever heard of and the movie was almost entirely clean,(no cussing or things of that nature) I think the last time somthing like this has ever been shown was back when the Monty Python movies were out, and not many people appriciate or appriciated them either.
Over all i think that everyone deserves their own point of view and i think that ND was pretty good.
