70
Just like some other PSP owners, okay, almost all PSP owners, who are itching for new games - I set out to purchase Namco Museum Battle Collection. I was pleasantly surprised to see a horde of classic games that reminds me of my yesteryear! And there are 4 new 'arranged' version of Pacman, Dig Dug, Galaga, and New RallyX.
I guess I'm a graphics addict that I found myself playing the new 'arranged' versions more. But either games, I tend to get involved in it that I just have to finish a level, then continue on until I realized how much time i've already 'wasted'. This game trully is a good past time for those quick PSP hunger pangs. If you already have the Namco Collection on your console, this may not be necessar, as it is basically a ported game.
However, if you enjoy getting into quick gameplays, or just challenging yourself with simple but entertaining games, games that revolutionalized the video gaming history/industry, this maybe worth checking out. Enjoy!

So, you really liked this and thought it was worth buying..but gave it a 70? I don't understand.

Honestly, I think anything above 60-65 is worth buying.. in terms of giving it a score. (as where 50-60 is average, 40 is poor, 30 sucks, 20 is horrible and 10 shouldn't have been made).
I bought it the day it came out (didn't realize it came out that day) and I have had a blast playing it.. although, it does seem like a quagmire to purchase a title that has 20 or so games that came out anywhere between 1980 to 1984. This point enough is probably the reason i'd give it a 70 as well, for the simple fact that I am wanting more out of the psp than 20 or so 20+ year old games and 4 re done ones..
Xevious alone though, makes this title worth a pick up.. I mean that game was very ahead of it's time as far as shooters go.. (thinks of old amiga shooters like sidewinder *not the F15 flight game*, and insanity fight).edited: Aug 30 2005

Galaga. Plain and simple. Galaga.

Huh.. In the world where I grew up...70 was a C- and 60-65 was just barely above failing. If its a game I played alot, great graphics or no, I'd think it'd rate better than a 'below avg.' rating. That was why I am confused. Maybe I'm just to old to realize that avg now days IS 50? If thats TRUE..I was WAY above average and deserved scholorships for failing calculus!edited: Aug 30 2005

Since very few PSP games have been getting 80's and 90's, games that get 70+ are now the top of the heap, while 60+ are worth buying. It's called "grading on a curve".

I was really disappointed with this game. I bought it for my wife (she loves Ms. Pac Man) and the controls are really hard for both of us.
I had considered reviewing this game and I was planning on giving it a 50/100. Those that love nostalgia will love this game, those that want something fun to play...I found it to be at about "half mass."
