Summary: Simple, stylish and functional, with one minor flaw

There Logitech goes again, having to innovate and made another great product. While everyone focuses on flimsy and insanely finicky screen protectors, Logitech has come out with a dead-simple but ultra-functional screen protector called the Playgear Visor. All's well except for one glaring inconvenience which keeps the Visor from being a perfect product, although it is above and beyond any other screen protector available today.

The beauty of screen protectors has been their supposed simplicity. But as the installation guides and reviews have proven, they're anything but simple. The Logitech Visor looks at the problem from another angle. Instead of a thin layer, you get a fully transparent, polycarbonate, plastic-like 'top' that fits over your screen. To put the Visor on, you simply line up the two dimples at the top of the PSP (next to the USB port) and push the unit down until the bottom part of the Visor snaps into place. On the bottom of the Visor are two tiny black pads that end up being in between your PSP and the protector itself. This helps to cushion and keep things tight.

The biggest concern you may have before getting this product is the clarity. Rest assured that it is 100% clear. You no longer have to worry about scratches or difficult installation. However, there is a noticeable problem that many of you will run into with the Visor when using it with hard cases.

Take Logitech's own Playgear Pocket. If you have the Visor on your PSP, the two won't fit into the case at the same time. Larger cases with a touch more space may be able to accomodate the combo, but most hard cases won't. It's not that the protector is particularly thick, it's very thin, but it is enough to be an issue if you frequently put your PSP in a hard case.

Ultimately, we highly recommend this product. With other screen protectors, you will save a few dollars (the Visor is $10 USD), but you will have a mountain of headaches trying to install those flimsy protectors. It is incredibly simple to take the Visor off and put it back on, so you could feasibly just carry it around with you (although inconvenient), or you could have a traditional screen protector on and leave the Visor at home when you go outside. This problem could be enough to keep you from buying the Visor, but if you're like us and rarely take the PSP outside, this is a godsend. The Logitech Playgear Visor is a perfect accompaniment to the PSP -- simple, stylish and functional. Now if only Logitech could come out with a paper-thin version, you wouldn't need any other screen protector.

Looks quite cool, yet is the visor going to be as soft and thin as the screen protectors?

No, it's not soft at all, it's a hard protector, yet flexible enough so that you can put it on easily. It's a matter of pros vs cons. The Visor beats thin protectors hands down in all areas but actual size (IMO). You have to weigh out what's most important to you.

Do you know when it'll come out? I might get this.

A visor does not beat "skins" hands-down.
Why? Easy. With this product, you still need to clean the PSP screen once in a while to get dust, etc off.
You are rubbing the actual screen when you do so, and even if you use a good, soft, clean cloth and good cleaner, it will scratch over time.
With the skins (I use the Hori, and it's awesome) you don't rub the PSP screen - which makes a difference.
Also, a lot of cases likely won't work with this attached...
I have shown countless people my PSP, and NONE of them could tell I had the Hori on until I told them!
It's that good, and IMO, very easy to apply if you read the instructions.

One thing the reviewer missed that the Visor is not made to work with Playgear pocket.
It was made for people who like to use the soft case.
