Hero's story isn't as solid as Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon, but it makes up for that with its sheer beauty. The director of photography does amazing things with color and composition in this movie. Sometimes the action sequences push your suspension of disbelief to its limits. This is not to say they are not great action sequences, but you are given no explanation in the film as to how these characters are able to do these amazing things. You must simply assume they have some greater understanding of nature and themselves. Overall, Hero is a great action movie produced in a very stylized manner.

Hero is a very good movie. I mean, with what other movie could melloncollie learn cool fighting moves? None.

It's definetly a romantized version of ancient martial arts, almost like greek mythology. This movie WAS good. Jet is the man, but Donny finally represents in that fight in the chess house.
