Summary: Geez, It's not that bad!

I've read lots of bad reviews on this game and they all say: SUCKS! But it's not that bad! What we have to remember is: this is a handheld system, people, and the games may not be the best but I think we can bear with when it comes to Death Jr.

Audio/Video
Great. Awesome graphics. There's really nothing to complain about. In fact, these are probably the best on the PSP so far. The music is great. I got the special edition with the soundtrack and I listen to the songs on da PSP all all of de time, maan.

Gameplay
The Not-so-goods: I admit, this is really where DJ sucks, but not too bad. The camera is mainly the problem. In order to see the desired location to "hop" DJ to, you must press L and the camera will snap to the place. No free camera to turn it around, 'cept free look which I rarely use except when aiming. You WILL get used to it. The other problem is his sheath jump; but not a big prob.

The Very-nice-s: I love DJ's control system. Switching between guns, the flame thrower, the C4 Hamsters, the Sword. It's all good. I find it extremely fun. This is a hack n slash and not at all bad for a handheld. You can upgrade with different moves and features and such - me likey. DJ himself is a great little guy to control.

Story
This is where DJ goes ker pooey. The beginning is all there really is and then the action. Barely any comedy at all. I kind of like this. Just hack away for me. On the go, I don't have time for story. I mean, on the gameboy, when was the last time you actually looked forward to a story? (Except for Kingdom Hearts: CoM yay!)

Loading times/Level design
Barely any. Just a small green swoosh and you're there. There are plenty of levels to keep you occupied as well. I for one feel the levels add a great deal of variety.

Overall: PICK IT UP! It's defidentaly worth getting! This is not a bad game! If they had made this for the PS2, yes, it would suck. But this is a handheld, people. And frankly, with all this lack of good games for the PSP, I say this is one of those that you should get. Of course, I haven't finished the game, I just got it yesterday, so if I play this all the way through and I don't like it, I will inform you. I will not end my review on a bad note! IT IS GOOD! GET IT!

This is exactly the problem with PSP games. The PSP has the potential to be even more powerful than the PS2! Everything on the PSP should be judged as if it was on a console. If people are happy with mediocrity, than that's all we're going to get.

psp more power than ps2? are you out of your mind. the freakin umd format can only hold 1gb game compare to ps2 is how much? lol imagine designin a game with limited space to put in. anyway this game aint that bad i like it. if you play ninja gaiden & loved it for xbox then you wont have a problem with the camera settings.

actually Vulgar is right. Developers are saying the PSP has the potential to be as great as the PSP. That is why its taking forever for the good games. They are taking time to make the graphics great.

UMD can hold 1.8 GB. That's not too shabby.

What really bothers me is that you say the gameplay sucks and the story isn't there, yet you rate it a 90%. That doesn't make sense. I will not cut a game slack for it's platform. There were great games on the NES. Games don't need to have amazing graphics if they are fun to play, but if the gameplay is bad, what's the point?

Play the game for a while and it grows on you, you'll also get a handle on the controls as well. The game could be better I admit, but for me it has renewed my faith in the PSP (I was thinking of selling it after completing Untold Legends and there were no other games that seemed that interesting). Death Jr is a lot of fun and will tie me over till the fall when the other good games come out (or so I hope!).

Nah, it's actually a great game. I'm still just getting started, but I think that reviews so far are quite unfair. Will post my thoughts soon.

Well, everyone has to try it out. But I've still been playing it and I just get hand cramps and am supper annoyed by the camera. The sickle swinging on the hooks is really buggy too. I think they need at least a couple more months on this to polish

Reviews for anything are personal.
I could care less who likes a movie, game, car or whatever.
It's up to you to decide - if he thinks it deserves a 90, then it's a 90 - TO HIM.
Use it for what it's worth - not the be all, end all of information.

Wow, what a herd mentality.

That's awful to say "he/she likes ____ however I dislike it, therefore he/she must be substandard to me." How arrogant can you be? and over a game.
