| Summary: One Of The Best (if not thee best) PSP Cases !!
92
It can be quite difficult selecting the right gear for the sexy PSP. Even when you may find a somewhat decent item, there always seem to be even something better right around the corner. Well currently, I think is safe to say that the BoxWave Armor Case is one of the top Of the ;ine of PSP cases, and it's not going to beaten anytime soon.
Overview
Not only is the AC stylish, slick, sturdy, compact, affordable, and functional, but it's efficient as well. First of all, it holds the PSP securely in the case (better than any other case I've used). The AC clamps down tight, making sure it won't open up easily by mistake. When the AC is closed, you can access the major ports/functions of the PSP (Power Switch, Audio, AC port). When open, the AC allows full use of the PSP. You can easily access all the buttons, ports (USB as well), and the nub when the case is open. Also the case is very comfortable, and light, making it barely noticeable while playing and using the PSP.
The case is very compact which makes it easy to carry it anywhere. It is also incredibly sturdy, protecting your PSP fully. To top it off, it can be used as a stand, and sunBlocker (with the upper lid). This case is an all around beauty.
In comparison to the competition
Why I like this case over many other popular cases, is because it easily does everything I need. The Aero Case is okay, but you can't actually play the PSP, inside the case. Also, it's bulky as all hell. The Brando Case, IMO I think is 2nd best, but the design is what holds it back from the top. The ;oose/floppy Lid just gets in the way, and makes it awkward at times to play the PSP.
Then there is the popular Logitech case, that I think is far from perfect. The biggest advantage the Logitech case has, is the custom designs you can add. Still, the damn thing barely holds the PSP in (my PSP fell out twice. It's also very bulky, and blocks access to the USB ports (open, and closed).
The Cons
Okay, I gotta admit this case is not perfect (after using it for awhile), but it still beats out any other current case. The only minor issues that I've notice with this case, is that it does block the audio/sound speakers. Plus, you can't access the USB port while closed, and it blocks the UMD drive. Other than that, this thing is damn near perfect.
Conclusion
As of now, I believe you can do no better than the BoxWave: PSP Armor Case. The Armor Case solves most of the anoying issues I have with other PSP cases, and more. Until I check out the MadCatz Stealth (which is looking sweet), I think this is still the best PSP Case you can get for $20.

The Brando case is still tops for me. I have had it since it came out and is the best way to access everything ALL the time and the case comes made out of an aircraft grade aluminum which means it has a really tough finish. True, it doesn't hold tighly onto the PSP but it cloese failry well and HAS saved my PSP from a 3 foot drop onto a concrete floor and barely dented or scratched (even though it skidded about 7 feet after the fall!). Teh Brando doesnlt block ANY ports at all except the UMD which is easily accessible none the less because it isn't "latched onto the PSP. I just have to talke the PSP out about half-an-inch and I pop it open and then set it back. And this is all while still using the PSP.
The main reason this case is cool is becaise it flips all the way around when open and can be propped up to watch or listen to music. (I do this all the time. And also th case was made to flip down. I know alot of people probably don't like that, but that's what makes accessing the UMD so easy. The lid flips under...not over. And it cannot get any snugger in fit than this.

Yeah it means no storage (I have two 1GB sticks and I hate carrying one of the sticks loose) but until someone adds to this case, Brando is it for me. (Although I mave my eye on the Mad Catz one as well.) But I loved the Brando case so much I have one extra in my drawer waiting for the day this one gets too banged up.
So yeah, it costs abit more than $20. But for loos, value, cost , strength and flexibility, it can't be beat.

it doesnt look like it would provide protection to the sides of the psp. i have the PGP and although its not perfect either, i feel safe dropping it at any angle and i've poured water directly on top of it to find out that the water pours nicely over it wihout getting too much near the psp.(dont try that with PSP inside it) i gotta say, this looks very sleak and stylish while fitting into a pocket with much more ease than a PGP. if this came out before the PGP i probably would have got it, but now, i'd have to say this wont lure me from my PGP. i, unlike the reviewer have never dropped it out of the case so i dont have a problem there and also, for me personally, the size of the PGP doesnt bother me. i'd have to say this is one of the best cases i've seen so far and would like to see more like it, but for now, i'll wait for something better to come out before retiring my PGP. great review matix, seems that you covered just about everything.

Okay, I got some bad news folks. After using my Armor Case for about 2-3 Days or so, the stand option seems not to work anymore. I assuming the hinges on the case have gotten to lose, for it to support the weight of the PSP (in a upward position). So I'm guessing this maybe the reason why BoxWave, didn't post this as an official feature for this Case. Still everything else is working awesome, but I just like to keep everyone inform of the situation.
