Well, if you're a die-hard HSG fan like I am (they haven't released one that I didn't buy) then you should buy a PSP for this game alone. It's filled with unlockables; some straightforward, some hilarious. The later courses are quite challenging (something that I feel other editions of HSG have lacked) and, oh yeah, it's GORGEOUS! Of all the games that I have shown friends on my PSP, HSG is the one that gets the most "ooh's" and "aah's".

Everything made the jump from console to handheld intact, so there's nothing to worry about there. Even the 'annoying as a hernia' soundtrack survived.

If I have one complaint, though, it's that the face buttons on the PSP can be kind of frustrating on important shots. More than once I've had crucial shots ruined by the shoddy sensor on the X or especially the Square button. It's nothing you'll throw it across the room over, unless you do, and then I totally feel for you.
