The still shots make this game look promising but it's not at all.

The gameplay is incredibly shallow (two buttons for attacks, a button for boosting/hovering that needs to be recharged, and that's about it). Slow paced gameplay, you fly around on a big, bland surface that's entirely unpopulated flying towards the very few number of annoying enemies to do one or both of your lame attacks.

That's about it really! The presentation is good, and the text is dubbed in by the Japanese voice actors, but that's about it. The game itself just sucks and is for diehard completists fans of the anime only. The mech models are good but their animation is limited and poor and move like how you imagine real life robots would move, not anime robots. It's just incredibly uninspired gameplay and game design all around.

If you want mech action on a portable, see how Armored Core fares stateside first when they add actual gameplay. Otherwise, just get the games for PS2.

NOT RECOMMENDED. AT ALL.

Although this game does let you swap out weapons, it doesn't feature the robust customization of Armored Core, nor its gameplay.
