In this review I will be comparing the Hori Protective filter with the Peilcan Protective screen.
When I first bought my PSP, the clerk at Gamestop recommended that I also purchase a screen protector. It is a very beautiful screen and it should be protected. The protector the clerk pointed out to me was the Pelican screen protector. As soon as I put the Pelican on the screen I notices a lot of clarity reduction. There was no dust or bubbles, but it was like looking at a digital camera image with a huge amount of noise. The Pelican seems to cause some RGB distortion. After reading the reviews here and on some other sites, I decided to order the Hori Protective Filter from EB Games.
When I got the filter I read the directions, steamed up my bathroom to get all the dust out of the air and proceeded to apply the filter. The filter is very easy to install, I did get one small bubble and one small piece of dust, but the directions said exactly how to fix this. Take a piece of tape and pull up the corner. Then remove the dust, or smooth out the bubble. The Hori is amazingly clear. I do not even notice that there is a screen protector on it. It is easy to clean, and is fairly scratch resistant. Most importantly it protects the amazing PSP screen from scratches. It is definitely a great product. The PSP should come with one of these.
