Summary: Sleek, small and well thought out

This is a sleeker more usable handheld than say the Lynx or the Gameboy. I like the ability to have media on the go. The M4A format is nice to have episodes or movies or that vid you've been wanting to share. I'm not so fond of proprietary formats, but this is SONY and that's what they do.

Pros
• Good sized, clear screen
• Video capability
• Mp3 capability
• Games are not region encoded
• Ad-hoc wireless head to head (some games only)

Cons
• No real web browser as of July 2005 (although I hear that's on the mend)
• No internal hard drive
• Expensive games in a limited range of genres
• UMD movies are region encoded
• Memory sticks are proprietary and expensive

The Cons are all things I can livve with. Even the fingerprint hell that your screen becomes. I got a Japanese PSP as I will be wanting the UK movie releases, so it's the right region.

My biggest complaints are the same as all early adopters: lack of local stores carying items, high entry fee, limited release of games.

I love it because it's slick, It will eventually have the games I want, I love the media capabilities, I love the potential that WiFi offers and memory sticks take up a lot less room than DVD's when travelling.
