I traded for this game in order to satiate my desire to see the web browser hack in action. While the web browser worked, it was not terrifically impressive, versatile, or user friendly. The novelty of surfing the internet over my PSP died after a few days, which meant the only thing remaining was to actually play the game.
The fast paced action of this game leads to fast paced movement of one’s fingers in order to control one’s ship, which leads to streaks and smears over the face of the PSP. I got tired of having to clean my PSP after each iteration of playing this game, and so I stopped playing. Anyone who cares about the appearance of their PSP ought to “steer clear” of this game.
For those who do not care if their PSP is covered in grime, the game does capture the feel of the previous Wipeout games. The ships offer a wide enough range of abilities so one can kill endless amounts of time trying each track with each available car. The audio is acceptable, the tracks are neat, and the game offers enough stuff to keep one entertained for a plethora of hours as one attempts to beat old records, earn medals, and other such things.
So, in conclusion, the web browser is novel, the game is acceptable, and playing the game leads to a very disheveled looking PSP.
If there was so much grime why not wash your hands before playing? We have the PSP to play with. Giving it a poor review just because the game makes you want to play it is really really... stupid.
You shouldn't really give something a bad review just because it get's your PSP dirty OJO. It's a game. Was it fun? does it have high replaabilty? Are the control any good? Is it challenging? These are the questions you should be answering in reviews not: Does it get my PSP dirty somewhat?
