It seems that every Sony console needs a Ridge Racer title for release. I picked up this one, and I can tell u, it ain't just the graphics!
Everybody who hasn't played a Ridge Racer-game, shame on you, if you have, you know the deal. Drift though corners at incredible speeds like nothing else.. In a couple of racers you can master the controls, and it only gets better from there.. Well, only the stupid opponents' AI annoys sometimes.
Nice loading times, great for pickin up on the train or bus. Choose a race, a car and off you go!
What can I say, this looks as smooth as any PS2-racer out there. Really detailed cars, environments, and it's so cool when a plane or helicopter flies over..
Ridge Racer provides exactly the music you need when racing over sunny, exciting tracks. Not every song is super, but Namco still did a great job on audio. The cars sound sweet too.
Races can be played even with one UMD. Maybe not official, but it worked pretty good with me.. You can choose from all the tracks, cars, but nothing is added here.
