I was a bit worried when I began to see some of the reviews on the net (and in mags) for Coded Arms. I'm glad I ignored them this time and decided to pick up this game. After all, I've been waiting ever since they anounced that a FPS was going to come out for the PSP.

I was very impressed with the presentation. It gives you the feeling that you're in this computer world infected by viruses.

The graphics are the star of this game. The particle and smoke effects look great and even the reloading animations are done well. Some complained about the "boxy levels" but I thought they look pretty cool and there some nice added touches like steam and even some interactive environments you can shoot.

The sound is pretty good but it sounds a lot better if you're using head phones.

As for the controls, they take some getting used to. It's nice that you have different options to choose from. I like both the "A" and "D" control settings.

Most of the reviews I've read gave this game a low score mainly because there's not much of a story and they compare it a lot to the original DOOM (where you just run around and shoot things). Well, that's just the type of game I've been looking for. I want a cool looking portable game that's easy to pick up and play and do some mindless shooting and Coded Arms delivers.
