First of all, I am not far into the game but I was very concerned after some reviews I've seen. For all old school FPS players, I think you'll like control scheme "C" which is turn left/right look up down on analog and a "WADS" style movement on buttons. If you don't know what "WADS" is, you might not appreciate the control scheme. However, controls are HIGHLY customizable.
WARNING: As far as I can tell, if you are looking for a deep story, detailed plot, compelling dialog; run for your life. If, on the other hand, you are looking for a straight forward killer. Look no further. Control is pretty tight. Graphics are gorgeous. Again, I am giving a couple of hours worth of impressions. However, nobody every slammed UT 04, quake, or Doom for lack of story. It's about the fun people.
I would give this an uninflated 8/10. In other words way above average, lots of fun. Is it perfect? No. However my experience is that it is a good shoot-em-up.
I picked it up yesterday and played for about an hour and a half. I will have to agree with Ticky99. The game is very good and the controls are very responsive. I come from a PC FPS background and was reluctant to buy Coded Arms, but I'm glad I did.
