Summary: Best golf game on the PSP yet

Before buying Tiger woods, I wasn't expecting too much, only that it could offer a gameplay experience the same as the console versions, with the analogue stick golf swing and various other functions. When playing the game I was amazed at how it was so like the console versions, and still retained all the enjoyment associated with its PS2 brother as well> one Tiger game which perhaps hasn't done this is the average DS version.

I loved practically everything about this PSP version of the game, with all the fun sequences with Tiger doing crazy moves to hit the ball like running up to drive it, and putting it like a snooker ball. And while people were sceptical about the 'nub' stick, which dosen't actually offer an experience like on dualshock, compliments the game, and works with the swing perfectly.

Some low points of this have to be the cumbersome loading times between the menu and different courses, this can become a real pain if all you want is quick loading times when on a short train ride, or short car ride. Another problem with the game has to be a slight frame rate problem, even though it only happens ocassionally, it can really dampen your mood about the game (especially when you're 15 over par). Another problem, it just may be me being a picky person, but the crowd can sometimes seem VERY boring, with the same shouts and cheers on a continous loop, with the exceptional cheer of when you get a hole in one or when the spectators sigh when you exceed the course shot limit.

Overall, a fine golfing game offering a console and crowd pulling experience with a few unfortunate nicks.

I agree.. this game was a complete surprise. Theres also alot of different gameplay modes too. My kids love customising their player .. its quite a bit more complex than the PS2 one.. which was pretty nice. My big nitpick with it, was on the 16th on StAndrews some placements of the holes on the green result in the hole being covered!!! so you have to get the ball 'near' the hole so that it autoplays the tip in (this cost me 5 shots at one stage!!). I'll have to do a review too once Ive done everything ..
