fullmetal has the correct idea except that the PSP only supports up to 4GB because its file system is engineered such.
eros also suggested some kind of selector for changing between 4GB partitions.
Such a method sounds alright but personally, i figure i'd much rather pick up a digital video/music player that does USB OTG and use it to dump files between the psp and a largish memory stick.
But then again if i had a device with such capabilities (archos gmini 402 or iaudio x5l) i doubt i'd be using a larger capacity on the psp... But then again i rarely watch video's as a portable media. Particularly if it was capable of video on its own anyway i don't think i'd bother with the psp for that kind of thing. Cool idea though.
But if someone finally puts out a keyboard that works for the psp and works out some kind of linux (bochs x86 isn't quite good enough)... Then i'd love to have an external HDD of larger size.
