i doubt that would happen, there isn't even a real decent voice recognition software for the computer. but voice chat online would be a different story.

I think the "PSP as mobile VoIP device" concept is exactly where Sony needs to head with this. As mentioned before, a Skype sort of service would be great -- not just "chat," but something where you could call any phone in the world via your PSP. While it certainly wouldn't be a cell phone-killer, since you could only make calls from wi-fi hotspots, I think it could develop a strong following. Strong enough to warrant a subscription-based service? I'm not sure, but strong enough that it would be worth the trouble for Sony to set aside a few servers and try out an website-based VoIP service.

Do you have your headset plugged into the "remote control" headphone connector that came with your PSP? If not, be sure that you do.
The headset is really only helpful in online play, but if you're in a game in which other players don't have headsets, you won't hear anything.

Everyone is saying; is it worth it b/c SOCOM is the only title using it. I see Sony trying to utilize it with all future online titles - or at least they should. XBox Live was a great community because every title used the headset capabilites. GT would benifit greatly if it used it as well as some of the sports games.

I read somewhere that it is possible that it can be used for pretty much any online PSP title.

The headset sometimes bother my ear a lot but this rarely happens so it's an excellent piece of technology. I hope the psp eye toy will use it
