just got this, addicitve game!

Bluermlou have you figured out if this game can be played against others?
I have figured out the first one where I play against myself. The second one I think might be against others but I don't want to purchase a copy for the wife if it isn't a two player wireless battle. And the 3rd one is a choose your player and opponent.

The second game looks like picture 2 above. Thats the one I am wondering if a wireless opponent can join in and play against you.

is this game better than lumines? it looks like a totally playable game without knowing japanese, correct me if I'm wrong.

I wouldn't say better. I think it is alot of fun. But the music on Lumines makes the game. If you could play this game wireless against others it would definetly make it better. Lumines has the following going for it: Fun, more than one type of game, wireless play, excellent music, and easy to play. Kollon has the following going for it: Fun, and easy to play. Again this is just my opinion.

whistlre, there is no wifi option or an option to play against another person, its a single player game... stil loads of fun to play though - ill try to write up a review when i have some time

Would you guys say that Kollon is a bit more 'kiddy'? It certainly looks it with the really large cartoons. Is it overly simple to play / beat tho?

it takes a bit of play to get used, and the versus mode is very challenging, ive yet to get past round 4.... either that or i suck

I tried this game out for the first time last night before going to bed. it's a pretty good game. For the people who are looking for a new psp game and like lumines and that type of game, this will be a nice fit to your collection. This game is cheaper than the others too so it's worth a look.
I gotta say that this game is damn hard. You have to think fast, really fast. Either that or the difficulty doesn't gradually go up, it exponentiates.

Just got this today as well, it is good fun, but the pieces are small! Perhaps I'm just getting old. Only gave it a go for a few minutes. Nice.

Is it hard to navigate through the game for someone who doesn't understand japanese? I'll definitely purchase it if that's the case

There isn't really any navigation, there are only 3 options. An arcade version where you play a random progression of CPU opponents, a match up mode where you can pick your player and the CPU player, and finally a solo game where you play for score with no CPU opponent.
The game is fun and the CPU players get pretty hard after round 2, after round 4 they are beasts =) Add that to the fact that this is the cheapest PSP game so far and you have a winner. I don't know what the importers are charging (I have a feeling they are ripping people off) but this game is only ~$24 in Japan.

Sorry, I don't quite understand - if I get this import game will I be able to play it on an American unit? Looks pretty fun!

there are no regional protection for PSP games. In other words, YES to your question.
