Folks, why're we still buying UMD movies? Haven't we all figured out it's cheaper to rent and transcode 'em? lol Plus you don't wanna take up all your storage space with UMD movies, save that for the $30-50$ games, and until sony makes a HOME DVD player with a secondary UMD slot (Yeah, like I'm gonna hold my breath for THAT) I say we tell the UMD video producers that're sellin their movies for $25 while the DVD goes for less than $20 to stick it in their collective assets

Quille, I saw games this past weekend for $9.95. Take 5 movies at that price and try and cram them on a $100 memory card and have similar quality...not going to happen. Face it, UMD's are here to stay, I was skeptical at first, but wtih the prices coming down, Im all about them now.

It's already out. Try looking at the top of the page. You know, next to "Release Date". I use a pretty small font and I can still see it without difficulty.

Ok I researched the release date, and I can only find where the DVD was released November 8th. The funny thing is I was gone to a field training exercise and came home on this date. I purchased the UMD at least a week earlier , and since The German PX usually gets things about 2 weeks after everything in America, I just rounded to the middle of October. My Mistake, but I did purchase the UMD before November 8th. The Important thing is, its out now.

Dont worry, next year will have come down in price and there will be a lot more sales on this sort of stuff. You know how it is with new
tech. Then eventually we start to see price drops. Like Buddha said there was sales all weekend and Target had been having games
on clearance. Just gotta keep an eye out.

Personally though id get the dvd myself untill i could get the umd for like $10.

I agree with Quille a lot. I still may buy a couple of UMD's for road trips and such, but I believe Sony needs to make a DVD Player with a secondary UMD slot as well. Also they need to push other company's in the entertainment industries to sell their movies as DVD's, UMD's and DVD+UMD bundles(make it $5 more or something than just buying one or the other?). Then I'd probably start investing more and more into UMD movies. Also a UMD-Reader for the computer would be nice...fat chance though I suppose.
