Gradius Portable is a collection of the ultra-popular shooter games by Konami. Featured in one UMD will be classic and enhanced version of Gradius I, II, III and IV and Gradius Gaiden.
There will also be many extras, such as stretching the screen to widescreen mode and actually being able to view more of the playing area. You can also slow the game down, change the hit-detection size. Most important will be the ability to save anywhere simply by pressing Start. So if you die, you can start from your last save point with all your power-ups and status.
An English version has not yet been announced.

Nah, that's another import only shooter. Gradius is a horizontal shooter all the way, and even benifits from the wider psp screen.

just got this last wednesday... i gotta say... this game rocks. i had never heard of Gradius before last year, and i never thought i would be playing it after i did. well, i traded in that pile of crap called Untold Legends: BotB, and got Gradius Collection instead. hard as hell, but the level design is better than anything i've ever seeen in a shooter. the upgrade system is awesome, especially in the later games. the graphics don't "suck" at all... each of the display modes work well (arcade is TINY though). it's challenging, weird (AHHH upside down lions... and fireball-shooting faces!!), and fun... a fair amount of strategy is required for screen positioning and upgrading, but it's all shooter, and all awesome. great game... i'll review it soon... after i beat a little more of it ^^edited: Jul 14 2006
