For anyone who has this app already... can you expand on the quality and process of the Audio conversion? I currently use SonicStage to transfer audio to my PSP because it converts the format (on the fly) to ATRAC3plus 64k from my source files (256k MP3). I don't want a program that will require me to have dual copies of all my media files. Media Boss said it would do this, and it DOESN'T. PSPWare doesn't convert to any other bitrate/format. I don't NEED ATRAC3 support... it DOES provide very good quality at a bit rate that is more portable (especially since i just have a 512MB memory stick). m4a, m4b, aac, mp4 formats seem a good alternative (although i don't have tons of experience nor have i done enough reserarch on them to know their quality at 64/96k...)

Anyway... someone done this? Any input as to how good the process is, how well the quality is.... etc.

Thanks!

I still manage my music through SonicStage and no, for some f'n reason dummy sony didn't put ATRAC on this software...stupid, really. I tried to pull my atracs up on the media manager and it is a no go. stupid

but it wil compres down to a 64k mp3, I've not tried it yet though because I have nothing to compress at the moment

I busted up on Revenge of the Sith last night. Put converted it via this software and it's truly incredible looking! The video quality of the converted files is leaps and bounds above anything else on the market.

Right...

Can someone tell me if this application does "on the fly" conversion of audio files when copying from the PC to the PSP. If I drag and drop a MP3 file from my PC, will it convert to say AAC automatically before plopping it down on the PSP (like SonicStage does with ATRAC?).

And can SOMEONE tell me what the quality of these converted (AAC would be best, I think) files if converted to AAC 64k....

Thanks!

SUCK! progmetal!

Your too late! I already purchased the product (I was too impaitent). Yes, thanks anyway... So it looks like I either have convert my entire library to another format/bitrate, or use SUCKY SonicStage.... Geeze. Anyone know what MP3 encoder this thing is using (LAME? FH?)

Thanks!

WTF.... have none of you noticed that this doesn't convert any DIVX files?

downloaded movies that work with Divx player do NOT work for this..... this really sucks. Downloaded videos don't work...like Anime episodes (divx). The only downloaded stuff I've been able to view are mpegs like some music videos...

my burned DVDs encode and convert easily. However, my store bought DVDs have a protect feature which doesn't allow for conversion thru this software.

.mov files which I make with my webcam look awesome. I think any movie file from a digital camera would work fine.

But it 's a big disappointment that I can't watch my anime or divx movies on my PSP :'(

Email me at:

hyogen AT NOSPAM hotmail.com if you know how I can do it!!!!!!!!! thanks

This may be an odd question that may have been answered already, but I am at work and curious about it. Does this do anything.........bad to users who use ....unapproved stuff. Will this auto-update my PSP to 2.5 when I connect it? Call me paranoid I just don't want to be dupped.

hm i heard divx files DO work just you have to mess with it a little. I think i'll get once they add more desireable features. If sony wants us to pay for it it better kick all the other product's ass to date.

missing like altrac and video encoding options is very unacceptable. plus having the cable plugged in to convert is rediculous.

vob. on a dvd no problem (files with copy protection might not work, then use DVD-Decrypt)
vob. on your Hd, change file extension to .avi
divX version 3 and 4 (have not tested 5) full suport
Xvid do not work.
I garanty you will like the overal feel of this software, but ones again I look forward to next ver.
