When the head of Ong-Bak--the sacred Buddha of a poor village--is stolen, the population is plunged into misery. The Buddha was the focal point of an anniversary vigil believed to bring rain to the drought-stricken area. Young Ting is selected by the villagers to travel to Bangkok and rescue the relic in time for their ceremony. Ting has an affinity with the statue as he was left on the temple steps as a baby and raised by monks, who taught him muay thai, but forbade him to use it in combat. But now he is forced to delve into a seedy underworld and try to avoid temptation.

This movie was terribly boring -- I stopped it about 45 minutes into it. The action scenes were repetitive. How many times were you going to see him leap into the air and do the same arm-drop-on-the-top-of-the-head move? Or the perpetual scenes where you'd see an action sequence at least three times in a row from various camera angles? Plus I felt that many of the stunts, especially the chase sequence in the middle of the movie was already done by others and much better.

yeah i have to disagree also, nothing must get your blood going kingsnake lol. some of the moves are repetetive, but his style is new to movies and his evasion scenes are awesome. i dont know, maybe you got bored half way through because you can do all of those amazing things he can do lol. and please tell me where the chase scenes were done before because i would love to see that movie.

the guy has skills - the story line and art direction was terrible. I just think that sometimes you gotta watch international films with a different mindset. again, the guy has amazing skills, and yes... better than Jackychan + Jet Lee together. my 2ยข :D

And I aswell disagree with Kingsnake. And I would like to know which movies he is refurring to that are done better. The scenes were some of the best. Plus the special features also include some of the moves he did in the movie. So If you want to say a movie is bad dont just watch half. At least finnish the movie before you bad mouth it.

I wish the US version didn't have so many scenes cut. Nor did I like the changes to the soundtrack. Do yourself a favor- if you like this movie, try and get a copy of the original THAI release. True, no subtitles...but I'd trade that dumb rap video for the missing scenes and sound edit on the original release any day.
Still, can't beat the coolness factor of having this on UMD..!! I work with a Sony rep who went on about how much he enjoyed the Thai Warrior. I think I'll let him see what it looks like on the PSP (grin)
