RWC's itan Movie Hunter PVR1000 is a simple Personal Video Recorder that can record TV straight to Memory Stick Duo/PRO Duo, CF and MicroDrive. Formats available are MPEG4, DivX, WMV, ASF and QuickTime. You can record in QVGA (320x240), MPEG-4 + AAC-LC/30fps, 16:9 (368x208) which will be good for the PSP's widescreen. In Widescreen format, on a 128mb Memory Stick PRO Duo, you should be able to record a little over 44 minutes at 384Kbps or 29 minutes at 768Kbps. The unit weighs 140grams and is 118 x 87 x 18mm. Priced at around $50 USD.

I was so excited when I saw the statement, "Priced at around $50 USD." WOW, I thought to myself, THAT IS AN AMAZING PRICE. So I followed the links and Babelfished (translated) the Japanese webpages. Oh uh... "Price: Opening (shop front expectation price 15,800 Yen including tax)"

link

15,800 Japanese Yen is around US$140.

link

Still a very cool device, but not an impulse buy at US$140 as it would be at US$50.

(And I didn't once mention hacking...)

McJefferson,

Hey thanks for the link! That was too good to be true if it was $50.00 I would have purchased it rigth away. Salamat sa 'info' mo!!

Does anyone have ATI's AIW and able to "add" mp4/psp codec for the PVR? It has mp4--but for "standard' mp4 (and mp2) conversions(dvd, vcd, avi, divx..but not mp4/psp) I still need to convert (using PspV9 or PspMovie Creator) so i can view my recorded TV shows on my PSP.
