Can you play games on your TV also? I hopes so as I do not have a PS2. This is awesome

Holy crap, it is real. This thing showed up not too long ago on Engadget as a render, but everyone thought it was just a concept. That being said, there's no way I'm going to waste my money on this...it totally defeats the purpose of a mobile entertainment unit.

I would imagine a little bit but that's because of the clarity of the PSP's screen. Still gonna get it.

Nice, you can use a PS2 controller as well. I for one would buy this, assuming its not a ridiculous $$ amount. I would love to be able to play some games on my TV. I love my psp portability but for when Im at home playing, this would be sweet. Color me sold.

You have to crack the device open and solder stuff inside to get this thing to work.
There's no way on earth I'm doing that. I'll go buy a freaking PS2 for $150 way before that thought crosses my mind.

Where does it say you have to crack open and solder stuff? I thought from the looks of things it would plug into the USB connector on the top of the machine to display the image. I am probably wrong but soldering does not sound good at all.

There is no soldering, you do, however, have to remove the face plate which although easy, does void the warranty

I think if it was a simple plug and play and the price was 50 bucks max then I would go for it. If not then I will wait until someone makes one this way.

I doubt there's going to be a plug n' play version of this unless someone figures out how to make the usb act as an output to stream video and audio. Otherwise you maybe stuck into opening the PSP to create another means of getting an output out of the PSP.

ridestowe you may be on to something here... a stand-alone UMD player would be absolutely fantastic... This device has too few practical applications to warrant a purchase for me; unless your a hardcore game freak or journalist needing to record game footage then you'd best leave this alone and wait for the (inevitable?) UMD player.
