Using the PSP's browser and internet connection, SkipJam iMedia users can now control any device in their home. The SkipJam iMedia software provides custom web pages which allow the PSP to function as a wireless remote for TVs, DVDs, Stereos, lighting and other consumer electronics throughout the home.
you have to by expensive equipment from there site and then upgrade the hardware's firmware and use the software they give you and you work it from your psp
What dont you have one of? Yeah... The stylus on the DS would be better suited to use the web interface. This is a stretch for PSP news. Valid, but a stretch since it's good for anything with a web browser.
I thought it was obvious, the DS is what I meant when saying "While I don't have one". But anyway, I also meant the DS's touchscreen would greater simplify use of controls, in this sense. But I will never know because I do not intend on picking up a DS.
wow this is bull...Whats the point...you'd have to be 2 feet away from the TV/DVD/etc. ...the PSP's IR beamer isnt the "Enhanced IR" that is required for normal remote control use...its has LOW power IR.
this would be nice to have if you didnt have to buy all the expensive stuff to use it with.. I have used my PDA as a TV remote from half way across the room, it works pretty well also. HP shipped the PDA withthe program to do this. and i think its supposed to be a Short range IR but long enough to use withthe PS3 as a remote, I would just want it to work with my PS2,PS3(when i get it),DVD player, and TV.. it shouldnt be that hard.. the software on the PDA is only like 350KB, that includes all the COdes and menus to select the Brand and Make of Home items you have, and save them.
