The Theater Experience features the same technology as the charger case so it also includes a rechargeable Lithium Ion battery that adds 5 hours of playtime to the PSP.
The Theater Experience will do everything that the charger case does plus it also features two stereo speakers, headphone jack and an adjustable viewing angle making it ideal for watching movies.
The two stereo speakers provide High Fidelity sound.
If I had to choose, I would get the Logitech PlayGear Amp instead. Not as compact as the Nyko one but can deliver a more awesome sound. Plus, it's so aesthetically appealing! You gotta compliment your slick PSP with slick accessories, yah know?!
lol,it says owned by 7 users.....so there are 7 liars on this forum.i just talked to a lady at nyko on friday and and she said it wont be realeased till the end of june..not one place has received these
Nexus, the media (gaming magazines, websites, etc) get a lot of products before they are released to the public (for review purposes). So its possible for people to have items that arent released.
However, I dont believe Nyko has even released the products for the media yet.
I'm sick of waiting for these things. What's the holdup, people? Put them on the shelf, you get my money. It's so simple!
What I like about the Nyko is that by plugging into an external power source, the PSP will allow you to select the brightest display mode. This is a big advantage to have on the go, without a need for nearby AC plugs. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that the build and speaker quality are good enough.
I have been waiting a long time for it too. I don't know why they announced it as if it were available so long ago.
So is it really awkward to try to play a game while it's docked? I guess it would be on any docking station, eh?
theazhrei, the forum has not updated your review yet. what's so wrong with it that your returning it already? the charger/case version got high praise, so i though this would at least get decent marks...
Hope that you fully charged it before you started playing, because this thing packs a punch! Just got mine today from Circuit City in Temecula Ca. I haven't finished charging it yet but of course I am impatient to and just had to here what this thing sounds like the sound was awsome! It is truely a theater experience in soround sound. Of course it's not going make you def if you listen to it too high, but in a busy mall I was forced to turn it down because it was far too loud. The main thing is the fidelity, " the faithfull reproduction of sound." As an Interior Communications Electrician in the U.S. Navy I can apreciate the nuances of impedance matching and a good feedback circuit. What I am saying is that they did thier homework and got an A+! It is far more useful, compact, versitile, and pleasing to the ear than the Logitec's which I left at the store after a short listen. But of course every one is intitled to his/her oppinion and mine is just one of many! But I feel it was definately worth the wait. Of course I haven't finished kicking the tires yet. But I do know that seven extra hours of play is worth it in itself. Not to mention that one of the headphone jacks cuts out the speaker but the other one doesn't..... This means that you can conect yet another set of speakers for an even better theater experience. It also has a jack for inputs. i.e. Ipod, or other media devices including a microphone. this thing is sick. Very, Very sturdy piece of equipment. It also has extension cables that alow you to both power your PSP and play it while out of the craddle. it was only 79.00 unfortunately there is no extra room in it for other things but it fits the PSP nice and snug and is the safest thing to date to put your PSP in.
mojomann, I thought the sound quality was terrible. I'm no sound technician or anything but there was something wrong here. .Unless you had the volume way up, you could hear all kinds of noise coming from it. It was really bad watching a UMD movie as the spinning disc had extra noise coming from the speakers. I plugged my headphones into it and they even sounded bad. The sound through the PSP's own port was much better.
There was actually a small piece of paper in the package that warned of not using a PSP outside of the case with both the audio and power cables plugged in for optimum sound. With all of the positive reports I'm seeing of it, maybe mine was bad or something. I had also purchased the Logitech Playgear Amp and that sounds AWESOME. But I hate that it's case doesn't hold a PSP and you have to put it together every time you want to use it. But I'm getting much faster at getting the bracket on, the PSP mounted, and the audio cable plugged in (I started using AAA batteries in it so I don't have to find a wall plug).
Everything else about the TE was nice, though I thought it could have felt a little sturdier. But it wasn't too bad. It's really convenient to use and if you have a decent sized pocket you can carry it around in there.
And on a full charge the battery life is just ridiculous. :-) I fully charged it the night I got it. The next day I ran the Spiderman 2 UMD over and over. The battery lasted eight hours and twenty minutes with the sound cranked up and the screen on the bright setting. That impressed me enough to get the Charger Case a few minutes ago.
