The DS version is amazing, but I want this just for the "mind soothing" pictures you get for completing levels...

I picked this up today.
It is ALL in Japanese... except for the one option to put your name in English.
So far... I am having fun with it.
This is NOT a kids game or for those that do not like school.
This tests your knowledge and how fast you can answer questions.
Since it is NOT a game... the price was a lot cheaper, plus... I got it FREE!!! (with points from the electronics store I always shop at)

Picked up this little beauty a few days ago in Sapporo & it's really pretty entertaining. Like TechRep said above, it's really not a game, but rather, just like the title says (in Japanese in anycase), a "Brain Trainer" developed by Tohoku University in northern Japan to help users develop brain power. Although some things are ingrained with us for life, like riding a bike, other areas definitely are in the use it or lose it category, and that's the jist of what this is all about. Focusing on stimulating certain areas of the brain, this software supposedly can actually help you to improve memory and thought processes, so it's actually pretty neat. As was said above though, it's 99.9% in pretty high level Japanese, so if you're not that familiar with the language, you might wanna steer clear. Also, as you progress, the training gets unbelievably hard, so keep that in mind.
