Infected's story begins during Christmas time in New York City, and a strange virus has appeared, turning normal people into insane, violent Infected. Rookie Officer Stevens is one of the first victims of the Infected, but unlike others, Stevens is immune and doesn�t lose control. It�s then discovered that Stevens� immune blood can be used to destroy the otherwise unkillable Infected. Doctors create a special �viral gun� that fills shells with blood from Stevens� arm and blasts them straight into the Infected, causing them to explode.
The game takes place from a third person perspective and its primary focus is carnage, lots and lots of carnage. Infected promises lots of gore as the Infected will splatter blood everywhere when killed, and combos will spill even more blood on the city streets.
You won�t just be limited to a basic gun, as Stevens will be able to duel-wield any of the game�s wide range of weapons. You�ll also be able to call in air strikes, and even light fires that will ignite chains of the Infected.
Infected features wireless multiplayer combat, which includes deathmatch and team deathmatch, and even allows you to create and join clans. Players create their own character or avatar, and those who are victorious in combat can "infect" the loser's PSP system with their avatar and gain ranking points. Avatars can be defeated through a variety of methods, as well as passed along from player to player thus creating a viral chain letter of attack.

I agree, RE4 is a game of the year candidate at the moment.

I am definitely goin to get a PSP the day it comes out, but I probably won't get this game. Sorry but it just looks really lame. I agree with the person who said it looks like house of the dead, and I HATED house of the dead. I do however love the genre and my favorite game is Residient Evil 4 right now. The premise is stupid, The figures look dumb. With some of the PSP games coming out.... It looks like some publishers are taking their games that they already developed for the PS2 that weren't quite up to par. They are probably thinking, "well.. we couldn't make it a good PS2 game so let's make it a launch PSP game. Because some people will buy crappy games when a system gets released (Remember Bouncer!?!?! or just recently... Ping Pals for the DS)".edited: Jan 21 2005

Cannot agree with you at all here, whats wrong with a good 3rd person shooter? the storyline may be cliche, but so is resident evils. These guys have given up other console development to work purely on the PSP cos it offers many gameplay enhancements over current consoles due to its wifi/multiplayer connectivity, and to give up on a huge audience like the PS2/XBox means you are surely gonna try your best to make the game as good as it can be, this is not just a quick game they thought up overnight, and with a past record that includes games such as Giants and Armed and Dangerous (highly amusing game which looks as though infected owes a lot to) then I am cetrainly looking forward to this game.
It wont be anything like house of the dead (the only resemblence will be zombies), house of the dead is a gun game, this is a third person shooter (with the ability to move top first person when you use a sniper rifle).

That is no longer... Resident Evil 4 is coming out for the PS2... I have it... It is amazing!!! My first recommendation would be to get a cube just for this game.... but if not, get it for the PS2. Also from midnight's rebuttal. From what I saw I still stand by my opinion. I am flexible and would like to see more sreens's... definitely Video Footage if the opinion is going to change.

Lol i traded my cube in along with every games including resident evil 4 for a psp. I have a ps2 so i can get re4 again on it if i want to. It was great on cube but i decided not to support a dieing system anymore
