Kyle MacLachlan heads an all-star cast (Sean Young, Max Von Sydow, Patrick Stewart, Sting) as Paul Atreides, an intergalactic warrior who leads his people into battle against the dreaded Harkonnens for control of the desert planet Arrakis, and its most valuable asset: namely Melange, a spice that permits travel through both time, and space. A science fiction epic in every sense of the word.
After watching the Sci Fi Channel's mini-series, I can no longer watch this version as it is so inferior to the other. There are several series I wish they'd put on UMD: Dune, Firefly, Lost in Space, and Moonlighting, to name a few.
