1. Does the PSP lock into place (unlike Logitech's Playgear)
2. Does the screen protector lock in place (or is it simply flip down)
3. Does the top side cover hinge provide "friction" to place the lid at a 90 degree angle like the Playgear (or is it simply flip-up/filp-down)
4. Does the polycarbon screen protector scratch easily like the Playgear's plastic shell?
5. Any risk of screen scratching due to the screen protector and/or the inserted memory sticks.
I just got the case in the mail so i can answer your questions:
1. It locks into place.

3. It has a different kind of stand and it holds well but it's a little bit shakey.
4. I haven't had it long enough yet but of course that won't happen because I take care of my PSP.
5. I haven't had it long enough but I highly doubt it, the part that holds the memory stick is like a soft plastic.

Thanks for the response maggot4life. Personally, the answer to number 4 is my biggest turn off; sorry you had to find out through experience. This also makes me question just how great Logitech's Playgear Visor will really be if it, too, scratches as easily. Oh well, a Hori screen protector will have to do. Thanks again.
A couple of things, during winter time, I rather have a Play Gear pocket polycarbonate armor that does not get that cold, then aluminum armor. Although I like the fact that you can change a UMD without taking it out, it only makes it more vulnerable if it falls and the door opens on impact. The screen protector is good for people who want to have it, I for example hate them, I like to view my 16 million colors without some plastic (soft or hard) obstructing my view. The Play Gear Pocket cover can be bent back so it does not get in the way when not needed, I don't think that it is possible with this one. Yea Memory card holder is a neat Idea, unless you have a 1Gb card in your PSP, then you probably will never need a second one. As far as the inserts go in Play Gear Pocket, I think its a good idea, its like having a new case every time you switch the cover, very neat.
So after reading the reviews for both products, I decided to go with Play Gear Pocket.

Out of the box, your view is being obstructed by plastic, seeing as the distance between the screen and the psp case is about an 1/8th " apart, creating glare automatically.
