Just two questions. 1)How much does it cost? 2) Why on earth did Sony not make this battery for the PSP in the first place?

go to link, its about 50 dollars. Secondly, the reason sony didnt make it in the first place , 1 R&D = $$, plus if they did spend that much money on it, it would cost 50-100 more dollars to buy a psp

I would have been more than happy to spend extra money and not have to charge my PSP every few hours. Yeah at first it's not a problem but it does start to get annoying after a while.

Personally, I would prefer to have the option and I'm sure most others would too. Including this battery would've been suicide for Sony. People balked about the already expensive $300 pricetag, can you imagine if it were $350? Forget it.

not nit picking but it was $250 not $300. But besides that yeah, even if the consumer had an option that would have been better.

i would have had the option too, but then you would of had to wait to get the PSP from the net ( custom PSP)

1. I heard about 3rd party batterys exploding in phones... I might wait to see if there are any issues before picking this one up.
2. Sony said they restricted the PSP to 222Mhz in the software becasue at 333Mhz it would drain the battery too fast. Maybe they will release a game that runs at 333Mhz and comes with a better battery, or (more likely) release games that run at that speed and sell thier own high capacity battery.

I don't think there is meant to be a cover by the looks of things. I think it sits in the battery compartment but the battery itself is also the cover. It has the slot for the open button to go into

the cap requires it to be slid in, therefore it cannot be part of the battery unless it is hinged
