On an American military base in Japan, a new kind of vampire emerges: Teropterids. They are monstrous shape-shifting creatures that can only be killed with special swords. A mysterious girl named Saya is the last "original," the only person capable of dealing with the menace of these monsters. Posing as a student at the base's school, Saya races to hunt down the beasts before they turn an ordinary Halloween bash into a bloody massacre.
I hate to say this but.. this film is highly over-rated. I love anime and was very excited to see this when it came out, but alas I felt let down when it seemed to be over far before I had really gotten into it. Also, it will probably be way too expensive for the content.
Yes, I enjoyed watching this anime film when I saw it on cable, but I did find it short. I will be getting this UMD for my PSP, as well as the Ghost in the Shell UMD movie.
Too short? Yes. Bad anime flick? No. Leaves you wanting more? Yes. That's 2 cons and 1 pro, so far. Get Ninja Scroll instead...or maybe if they decided to ever release AKIRA.
I have never heard of a part 2 release of Blood the Last vampire movie, the only thing I have heard is a Blood + TV series which continues on from the movie, but set in a different time period.
If you are looking for a longer movie that is made by Manga Entertainment and is well perceived, try watching Ghost in the Shell movie that is coming out on UMD Video.
This anime was based on Yokota AB in Tokyo. It was made by a man that was stationed there and then became a citizen of Japan when he go out of the ari force. I just moved back from there last January and tell you what I can't wait to see it. At least to see how he represented the base in apperence.
