Lathe was developed with two primary objectives: Superior Ease of Use and Superior Efficiency. PSP Movie Creator does support OGG files. I have alot of anime in that format and it works fine.

Any coder who isn't smart enough to actually specify what the OS and hardware requirements are for their software probably doesn't write very good code, either.
I looked all over Lathe's website and they give no clue what operating systems it supports.

Agreed, the provider of software should always specify the OS that their program runs on. Obviously this seems to be a Mac program as the guy has many topics about Mac on his site. Someone e-mail him and complain, I am going going gone

Seems totally half-ass to me. The interface and promotional website are horribly ugly, and the site's not even complete. I have no idea why anyone would subject their PSP to this pile. I suggest everyone just stick to their 3GP Converter. Why do we constantly need new apps to do the same thing when it's already been done perfectly?
And I don't know why he's talking about how "hard" it is to get video onto your PSP. Okay. You rename the file correctly, or let 3GP Converter do that for you, and then you DRAG IT TO A FOLDER ON THE PSP. WHAT?! WHAT IS THE BIG DEAL!?!?!? WHY CAN'T PEOPLE STOP TALKING ABOUT HOW "HARD" THAT IS?

To answer your question about "how hard"; I fully believe Sony made a big mistake about not including some type of conversion software with the PSP. They have given the consumer a great product, but have not followed it up with a K.I.S.S. way to move media onto the memory card. This is why everyone and their brother jumps on the bandwagon with software to try and do this. People who bought the PSP are not necessarily the most computer savvy people anyway. If Sony truly wanted the PSP to be the "walkman of the new millennium", they should have given an assist in the media department. Of course if this would have happened, maybe they would quit trying to stop all the home-brew applications being developed also.

Yeah. I totally see your point. Sony really should have had some pack-in software. Not that it would've been so great, judging from what came with my Clie'... But you're right. They're kind of throwing the average consumer into the deep end to just leave the software out of the picture altogether.
I keep forgetting their stance that this machine is supposed to be for the average consumer. Me? I still can't believe we haven't had a proper web browser update yet.
