NOTE: This is for the Plain Aluminum version, not the black case pictured above but its caucasian twin.
The alum version of this case is on sale for $13.95 (retails for $28!) at this website: link
Shipping is only $3.95. Says it's a 'June' sale, so may only be a temporary price. +

I've used them for other accessories - good place!
I'm getting another one - I'm going to take off the paint and polish it to a mirror-shine. It will show finger prints, but it will look nice otherwise.
Get one now while you can!

i should have gotten this instead of the playgear.. playgear looks nice but its just to damn big and heavy
+
is it metallicly glossy black or just like a flat black?
+
I'm just curious... can the PSP be played when it's in the case - doesn't the "flap" make this impossible since it flaps forward and not backwards ?
And also, is the PSP secure in the case when it's open - is the PSP loose in the case or held in place by something ?
+
This case looks pretty good. BUT beano raises a good point... it is kinda stoopid flipping down instead of up. the playgear's can provide some shade, but this one cant really

whats the point of having the umd open push thingy open if you can't open umds when its in the case ?_?
P.S. the way their latch system is designed I'm not sure why it couldnt go on the top with a few cut outs in it.
Also has anyone had a problem of the thing openning up when it was dropped, because some people seemed to think the closing mechanisim was really weak.edited: Jun 18 2005

Not sure what you mean by "go on the top with a few cut outs". Not going to test this obviously, but the latch seems very secure to me, and looks like it won't wear out easily like some button latches I've seen, the clasp on this case is very sturdy. I don't think it would open up from the impact of a small drop, like out of your pocket.

Now that I've had more time with this case, I can say that the cover flipping down is not stupid at all. It works extremely well as a hand-grip. The way the hinge is designed, it can swing around to all kinds of angles so different size hands and preferences can find a way to cradle it comfortably.
This is hard to understand unless you actually hold one of these things in your hands, so sorry if that seems abstract.
I still can't believe I bought this thing for only $14. What a steal.edited: Jun 24 2005

the reason there is a cutout for the umd latch button thing when you cant open the umd cover is that so no pressure is on the umd button while it is in the case, it is quite a snug fit

I have the silver one like this

THe thing i think about is the amount of open ness. I'm arfraid of lint and stuff. I want a fully closed case, not this open thing... Mabey if all the poerst could close, but in my poket, and back pack, I'd worry about stuff going in the holes...

Have owned mine since last May and not noticed this to be a problem.

I have this case, it sucks! The damn thing flips down to open, it should flip up. You can switch the case around (as many show on eBay) but it covers up the power switch. Even the people that sell this on eBay, shown opening "up", show it covering the power switch.
Save yourself your money...stay away from this case.

 Own it
