btw, I use this software to encode most formats, then I use PSP Video 9 to copy and manage (also rename) files to and from PSP to PC HD.

I'm gonna give their FREE stripped down version a try. Look for it before the system requirements at the website. No DVD support, nor editing, but free is the nice price - maybe it'll still be fast...

I dont know if anyone else realized it but, this little app also converts the TIVO recordings to PSP (and transfer). This is the best "one stop shop" movie creater for PSP. Bar none...

If anyone out there has the full registered version of this... ...could you verify if this app will convert .MOV files?
Thanks.

Hellstorm10 - Hate to bust your bubble, it can't convert .MOV (Quicktime) files. I have a registered copy and overall it is a solid little app, but the lack of quicktime support is strange. I would bet that they simply adapted one of their other conversion apps (DVD to Pocket / DVD to Palm) since neither of them support Quicktime either. Though this app does support other media formats (wmv, avi, mpeg, mpg, etc), it is really made for DVD conversions.

I tried the free version. Coverted two TV shows (.avi) with no problem, but tried to do another today and got an error message - 'Access Denied - try closing other programs that may be using the file, or restart computer' (paraphrased). After following these instructions, i still cannot convert any more files.

Also, I noticed the video is a bit choppy, like it lost a few frames in the conversion. Anyone have these issues?

Other that these points, it's a nice program. I will buy the full program if i can resolve these issues.

I purchased this over the weekend.. After some tweaking/ settings/ finding which codec worked best.. I have succesfully converted Ocean's 12 and the Incredibles.. both at less than 500mb each..at very nice quality viewing on the PSP! I already have another one of PQDVD's application- PocketDVD Studio for Pocket PC---which has worked flawlessly!!!.. This PSP program is 3 x faster than my Pocket PC application (although because i haven't upgraded/updated it for awhle)....

Recommended-- I give it a 9/10...

I love it! It works perfectly. I don't think the video looks stretched at all. As a bonus, the files created with the PSP version will also work on your Pocket PC (use a free program called Beta Player which has lots of features). No need to buy two products!

I know there are programs available for converting DVDs' to play on PSP, but I'm a busy guy and spend a fair bit of time travelling. So, I don't have time to convert a DVD into one big VOB file, then convert it into an MP4.

Thankfully this app does it all in one go. And, it's very easy to use. Just pop the DVD of your choice into your PC, choose the video and sound setting to suit your memory card, press play, then record. It even creates a thumbnail for your PSP, and transfers it over in a PSP friendly file name.

So far I've converted the first Star Wars trilogy, and I'm very happy with the results.

My only complaint would be the price. Given the free alternatives, £30 (GBP) is quite alot of money. But, there is the convienience of an all in one prgram.

This is the only way to go if you have money. It is just sooooo simple to use and easy to set the output size of the file. You cant go past it for speed and ease of use. Damn shame about the cost.
