Windshield mount...how many accessories can be thought up?! Only good thing I see in this is for a voice-activated GPS system...which would be awsome...
+
Added a new 'car' section on the gear list page (click the gear icon on the top).
+
Just be incredibly careful, in California anything other than a GPS or navigational display beyond the front two seats of the car is highly illegal (state law says that any display device that can be viewed by the driver, whether with normal or peripheral vision, is unlawful).
+
...
Does anyone else think this is a bad idea?
+
Wouldn't it come unstuck? The PSP is rather heavy.
Having a PSP up front could be incredibly distracting for the driver too.
+
this is a terrible idea... not only will the psp be in plain view of the driver (illegal in most states and provinces), but it also blocks a part of the windshield, limiting the drivers field of vision...
+
Want to know what this would be good for?
The PSP has a great screen for displaying images. How about the ability to see a map for road trip navigation?
While not the brightest idea for games or movies, a windshield mounted PSP may come in handy for the road warrior who probably also has a radar detector but not a GPS in the car.
You could also pipe some tunes from your 512 or 1GB MS duo to the stereo with the screen off, also legal.
For you worry-worts out there, how come there are so many iPod car accessories on the market? It has a screen and you usually need to mount that near the driver-seat or in some cases near the windshield (depending upon the product).

"AAA reports a sharp spike in PSP-related vehicular deaths."
Do you own a PSP or iPod? (add $300 to your 6mo premium)
Do you own a GBA? (we're so sorry for you, here's your deductible back)
+
ok, jesus christ, if you need this in the car, then you shouldnt be driving. maybe if your passenger wantrsto watch something but if that's the case, they can hold it themselves. watching nmovies while driving is NOT a good idea!
+
the only use i can think of for this product is for GPS. i'm sure this is great for GPS and even movies for some but i doubt much else besides maybe an in car MP3 player. about the legal issues, i come from a family of police men and i dont think any of them would pull you over for that. now maybe if you got pulled over for a DUI and were acting stupid yeah they could add that on to your punishment, but it would take one of a cop to bust you for that.(i know, those cops do exist lol) anyways, besides the legality of it, if you're using the PSP mounted there for anything other then for GPS, MP3, or movies(only for passenger) while driving, then you deserve to get into an accident and break your PSP. keep your eyes on the road people. even if you dont die, you may kill someone else.
+
what would be more sensible is a mount that secures itself in your cupholder. while still a distraction, it would not block the drivers view through the windshield.
+
Here's the answer - a nice tabletop mount for your folding tray table while you fly. NOT WHILE YOU DRIVE! While they're at it, why not make a bike handlebar mount? Why not build a custom sun-visor for the car with the PSP built in? All I can say is that I'm happy I take public transpotation to and from work everyday...
+
I smoke weed while driving, talk on my cell phone, and used to watch my dvd player while driving. I love this, you can pop it off if the cops stop you, and you can watch spider man in rush hour traffic, wahooooooo.
And for you little ladies who say its unlawful, GET A LIFE AND AN OPINION
+
the people who say it's unlawful, DO have an opinion. and admitting you smoke pot while driving, brilliant!
