Talkman is not a game so much as a travel aide that aims to help you improve your pronunciation, hearing and talking (obviously from the viewpoint of a Japanese person travelling outside of Japan).

Looks like a pretty lame game, and so much more! It could be my new Frech study buddy.
Check out my PSPage because they told me I'd get "referal points" (and I presume that that's good...)

it is nerdy, but you could make lots of money as a translator, if this game is made in japan for ppl to learn English, I'm almost positive they'll come out with a reverse for Americans. I'm gonna get it if it's not $50

This is not just for Japanese to learn English. You can also use this software to translate from English to Japanese.
In fact, there are four languages that you can translate with, English, Japanese, Chinese, and Korean. You can translate from any one of those languages to any other one. If you didn't know this, the game comes with a microphone that plugs into the USB port of the PSP. You can talk in the microphone to translate, or to do excercises as well.

It's out now, I wonder just how easy it is to use for us non-Japanese people? All the menus seem to be in Japanese... unless that's a default Setting or something?

Plus you can set your Talkman menus to be in one of the four languages previously mentioned. With the ability to change it at any time. So it would be fine for all importers of the game. So dont talk about this software without knowing: what it is, what it does, or what it can do.

Holy crap all you guys are trashing this thing for "not being a game", "stupid game", "nerdy crap" like it's totally worthless. It is actually a pretty good tool if you want to learn Chinese/Korean/Japanese. Some may argue that you can listen to tapes/CD's for lesson, but they don't offer you the same interactiveness as Talkman does. Of course it is nothing to compare to a live person teaching you, but for $50 it serves the purpose pretty well. The pronounciation "game" does a pretty good job in picking up what you say and grade your accuracy. I'm gald they come out with something original like this. BTW, this thing works with the sony psp headset w/ the mic.
