This popular Japanese shooter is coming to the PSP with an innovative control system where you hold the device vertically rather than horizontally (pic 4).

a definite try before you buy title for me

not on amazon yet? is it only in japan?
+
If you use your left hand to press the buttons and your right hand to steer its alot easier to hold. Im just trying out different ways to hold my PSP vertical.
+
The controls are fine, only a moron wouldn't be able to handle the PSP this way. Very cool game, makes great use of the PSP's longer screen. I guess everyone's too busy waiting for another pile of GTA to play some quality shooters.

 Own it
i actually quite liked holding the psp like this for the game, its definately an interesting approach, and didn't feel awkward. the game however feels quite crap - i would LOVE to see a terrian type shooter for the psp - one where you could customise your ship, and upgrade those weapons and shields etc - as it stands, this game is visually nice, but the gameplay is simplistic and... well, bad... not really recommended...

what happened to good graphics?
+
it's a shooter, i wouldn't expect good graphics for such a straightforward concept. If this were Ikaruga i might consider buying it, but there isn't enough innovation or gameplay here that would warrent a payment.
+
Too weirdo. Do a R-Type converison. please.
+
psp really needs more shooters like this, like ikuraga or donpachi or pariodius!
+
This sucxs i can't be holding my psp like tis i need it to be normal like they could have the desency to atleast let you chose
+
I think it broadens the horizons and brings something fresh to the system. Maybe.
