It's a remake of T1's Punish the Evil Merchant. Enjoy!

i haven't played the psp version of tenchu yet but the worst redraw distance was in tenchu 2. tenchu 1 was great, no REAL problem with redraw but tenchu 2 was unplayable because of it.

The draw distance IS worse in the PSP version than any other Tenchu. You can see about 5-10 feet in front of you. Beyond that, everything almost instantly becomes total blackness. It's like playing Doom 3 or something. Remember in the first game when an enemy would see you in direct line of sight from a hundred feet away before he was drawn? Well, imagine that if you're MOSTLY BLIND. I've only played the first level so far, but there are times you jump on top of a normal 1-floor house, and have trouble SEEING THE GROUND and enemies walking on it!

Other than that, the camera isn't terrible, and the controls on PSP are quickly reconcilable. It seems like any other Tenchu game, as long as you can navigate a dozen menus in pure kanji, and don't mind being blatantly limited in visual range.

I got this game recently and I must say I'm impressed, though the camera angle needs to be adjusted, but that has been the tenchu problem since day 1. In game, hit O then R to reset camera behind yourself. The game is 100% japanese and I dont understand a lick of it, but you can still have a good time, just avoid being caught because you'll get a negative score like me

Draw distance is horrible but it's not worse. Play the first two again. Especailly T2. It;s the same. Check out my custom game save. It's a remake of T1's first level. I haven't had time to make many more though the folks over at gamefaqs.com have made a few.

I think draw distance is perfect. Think that it's at night all the time. In the real world, in a night without moon, problably you won't see even your own nose, belive me. There weren't electric lamps on the streets those days... The thing is proceed with a lot of caution... and thinking about that they can't see us either until we are close. This is my second game for my psp (first, medievil), and I'm enjoing it a lot! Except for some camera problems (little problems) I find this game very very playable, great graphics, nice sound and music... And large and difficult... mmm... never played tenchu before.

Hi

1st post. Thx to all the reviews here, decided to buy it, never played Tenchu b4. Wonderful stealthy play! The mission editor makes this game a 'keeper' lol worth the money on it's own almost....but there's much much more!

Downloaded levels/maps from the jp Tenchu site great! It seems they have had some sort of competion over there since these 5 new maps have been awarded prizes. Great stuff try them all out. There even a mission where u are the wolf/dog!!! I also downloaded the map/custom mission from Lyam - This could've won a prize for sure!

Yeah camera angle is a bit tricky- but gameplay makes up for it - it's prolly harder for those used to assault type games lol

Hey, Lyam if your reading this how did you change the character in a section of the mission..? marvelous effect! And also ,in the Map Editor there is a tile-set called 'city' I'm not able to see this when selected, is it perhaps, to be unlocked in 'story-mode'??

I'm up to level 3 without too many problems. Yeah, negative scores so far but hey! I ain't played it b4 lol it's just great! BUY IT!!

Hey billr,

Thanks for the compliments! I had a lot of fun making this level. The character switch is a property of that tileset. Play around with the level itself. I set it up so different things would happen if you discovered alternate routes.

And yes, you unlock those tileset by completing the game.

Thanks!
